Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you order from us, including how prescriptions are handled and what happens if something goes wrong.
This document is awaiting legal review.
A final version is being prepared with our legal advisers. If you need to rely on any part of it in the meantime, please contact us and we will confirm the current position in writing.
dev note: see content/legal.tsThese terms govern your use of this website and any order you place with Friecca Pharmacy Limited. Please read them before ordering. Nothing on this website is medical advice, and prescription medicines are dispensed only against a valid prescription from a registered practitioner.
01Acceptance of Terms
By using this website or ordering from Friecca Pharmacy Ltd, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
02Prescription Requirements
Prescription-only medicines are dispensed only against a valid prescription issued by a practitioner registered to prescribe in Uganda. We may need to verify a prescription before we can dispense it, and we may decline to dispense where we cannot satisfy ourselves that it is valid.
This website does not provide medical advice and is not a substitute for a consultation with a qualified health professional. Information on this site is general in nature and must not be relied on to diagnose or treat any condition.
Our pharmacists may contact you or your prescriber if anything about a prescription needs clarifying before it is dispensed.
03Delivery Terms
We deliver within Kampala and the surrounding areas we serve. Delivery times given by phone, WhatsApp or in the app are estimates and can be affected by traffic, weather and the availability of a rider.
Someone at the delivery address must be able to receive the order. For medicines, we may ask for identification before handing the package over.
We deliver to the address you give us. Please check it carefully — if an order has to be returned because the address was wrong or nobody was available, we may need to charge for a second delivery.
04Returns & Refunds
For safety and legal reasons, medicines that have left our premises cannot normally be returned or exchanged once they have been dispensed. This is standard practice for pharmacies and protects every customer.
If we have dispensed the wrong item, or an item reached you damaged or outside its usable shelf life, contact us straight away and we will put it right. [Refund and replacement window to be confirmed by the client.]
Keep the packaging and the receipt — they make it much faster for us to resolve a problem.
05Pricing & Payment
Prices are quoted in Ugandan Shillings and can change with supply costs. The price you are quoted when you place an order is the price that applies to that order, and we will confirm it with you before dispensing.
We accept Mobile Money and cash on delivery, and cash at any of our branches. A Mobile Money payment is made by you, from your own phone, to our merchant code; we ask you for the transaction ID you are sent so that we can match your payment to your order, and we confirm it against our statement before the order is marked paid.
Card payments are not available yet. If that changes we will say so here before we offer it.
If you are claiming on insurance, cover is subject to your scheme's rules and to the insurer's confirmation. The amount your scheme does not cover remains payable by you.
06Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you placed your order, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control such as severe weather, road closures or civil disruption.
Medicines must be used as directed by your prescriber or our pharmacist. We are not responsible for harm caused by using a medicine contrary to the instructions given.
07Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, and the courts of Uganda have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
We are a retail pharmacy regulated under the National Drug Policy and Authority Act and subject to the professional requirements that apply to pharmacies in Uganda.
